Ankeny Youth Triathlon, ‘Jersey Boys’, Ted Nugent and More: Plan Your Weekend in Ankeny

There’s plenty to do in Ankeny this weekend, and if you want to travel into Des Moines and around the metro, there’s plenty to do there, too.

Ankeny Youth Triathlon

Swim, bike and run in the 7th Annual Ankeny Youth Triathlon. Swim laps in the Prairie Ridge Aquatic Center, bike around the Sports Complex and run through the finish line at Prairie Ridge Middle School track. A bike helmet is required for the bike portion of the event. Kids of all levels are encouraged to compete. Awards will be handed out, but everybody that completes is a winner.

A participation meeting will be held Thursday, July 25 at 7 p.m., at the shelter east of the Aquatic Center and attendance is highly recommended.

Kick it 3v3 Soccer Tournament

Family Fun Night

Bring out the whole family to Prairie Ridge Aquatic Center on Sunday evenings! Families of up to four members get in for $10. Join us June 9, June 23, July 14 and July 28 for Family Fun Nights!

Where: Iowa State Fair Grandstand

Des Moines On Stage presents ‘Shout!’

The book, written by award-winning playwright Lindsay Price, is poignant and uplifting. Add a rich and soaring vocal score by Kristin Gauthier and your audience will be still Shout!-ing for more long after the curtain drops.
