Art Bus unveiling to be rescheduled to December 11

Bus to feature artwork by Benjamin Gardiner, associate professor and department chair of art and design at Drake University.

The Des Moines Area Regional Transit Authority (DART), the Greater Des Moines Public Art Foundation and Drake University have postponed the event to unveil the latest installment of the art bus series. The event was scheduled to be held at 11 a.m. in the Olmsted Center on Drake University’s campus on Wednesday, Dec. 6. Due to the passing of longtime Drake icon, Paul Morrison, this event has been postponed to Monday, Dec. 11 at 11 a.m.

Twice a year, the Greater Des Moines Public Art Foundation chooses a design and an artist’s work is used to wrap a DART bus. The latest bus is the seventh in the series, and will feature artwork by Benjamin Gardner, associate professor and department chair of art and design at Drake University.
DART, the Greater Des Moines Public Art Foundation, Drake University and Mr. Gardner will be speaking at a short ceremony in the Olmsted Center at Drake University. Following the remarks, attendees will be welcomed to view the unveiling of the bus in the parking lot adjacent to the Olmsted Center.
