Bentz, Bond Clinch Top Two Spots in Ankeny City Council Primary Election

With all precincts reporting, the two candidates won by a considerable margin.

Bobbi Bentz and Mona Bond will move on to the Aug. 14 special election after securing the top two spots in today's primary election.

According to unofficial results from the Polk County Election Office, Bentz garnered the most amount of votes with 454, or just over 39 percent of the vote. Bond trailed her with 338 votes, or 29 percent.

Gary Key and Tom Reiland, the final two candidates, received 191 and 172 votes, respectively.
