What if President Obama is telling the truth on the scandals
Let's pretend the president is telling the truth about what he knew. What would that mean?
There are a whole lot of claims going around with ScandalPalooza about who knew what when. Let's assume for the sake of argument that President Obama is telling the truth about not knowing about these scandals until he read about them in the news. What would that mean?
In Benghazi it would mean that the requests for security from the ambassador were received and someone didn't tell him about it. It would mean that as the embassy was under attack he wasn't kept up to date and others handled the details of how we responded that night. It would mean that someone other than him gave a stand down order.
With the AP scandal, it means that people who report to him decided on their own without informing him that they were investigating a leak by going after phone records of journalists and their family members.

It would mean the IRS decided on it's own to target his political opponents, investigate itself, discover that it was doing this discriminatory and illegal tactic, and then not tell anyone until well after the election. Well, they did tell someone in the White House, but that person didn't tell the president about it. Information about a major investigation was withheld from the president, and he had to read about it in the paper.
It would mean the president is being kept in the dark about these things. And if these things are being withheld, what else does he not know about?

If people are doing these things without his permission or knowledge, who is really running the country? What exactly does the president do if he's not making these kinds of decisions and is not being informed about what is going on? Is he that detached from the goings on in his administration? Is the government that out of control that people feel like they have the power to just do whatever they want?
And if he is truly as outraged about these things as he has claimed to be, why hasn't he fired anyone (well, except for one guy who was leaving anyway) to set the example that this type of behavior will not be tolerated? I mean, if we are to believe what the president is saying, that is.
