City Of Ankeny To Provide Tree And Branch Drop Off And Curbside Pickup

The City of Ankeny will provide a tree and branch drop off for Ankeny residents Tuesday – Saturday, Aug. 11 – 15 from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.

The City of Ankeny will provide a tree and branch drop off for Ankeny residents Tuesday – Saturday, Aug. 11 – 15 from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. due to the storm that occurred Monday. In addition to the drop off, curbside pickup will be offered starting Wednesday, Aug. 13, it could take up to four to six weeks to pick up the entire city.

Tree and branch drop off will be held at the Prairie Ridge Aquatic Center parking lot, 1220 NW Prairie Ridge Drive, Aug. 11 – 15 from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. Participation is restricted to Ankeny residents living within the corporate city limits. There is no fee, however participants will be asked for proof of residency.Residents are asked to have the cut end of their branches stacked at the end of their vehicles for easy removal.Commercial vehicles and trucks larger than a pickup are prohibited from participating in this program.

Curbside pickup will begin Wednesday, Aug. 13; it could take up to four to six weeks to pick up the entire city. For curbside pickup, trees and branches should be placed in the right-of-way only. Please keep sidewalks clear. Trees must have a trunk size no larger than 18" in diameter and branches should be no smaller than 1” in diameter. Tree roots, stumps and other yard waste material will not be accepted because it may clog and jam the chipping machine. Crews will make one pass through the city.
