Closure Leaves Ankeny Bowling Teams Searching for a Home

This is the second year in a row that has seen Ankeny High School's bowling team looking for a home venue.

Tuesday's closure of AMF Bowling Center in Des Moines has forced Ankeny High School's bowling teams to look for a new home.

“Where we’re going to end up, I don’t know,” Ankeny coach Mike Mullins told the Des Moines Register. “Everything is up in the air.”

Ankeny moved to AMF last winter following the closure of Ankeny Lanes. Now the boys’ and girls’ squads are again seeking a home venue.

“We had everything set up,” Mullins told the newspaper. “We had our schedule and we were ready to go, and then this happened.”

Plaza Lanes in Des Moines and Premier Bowling in Altoona are among the venues under consideration to become Ankeny’s new home.
