DART schedules to change on August 21

D-Line to begin Saturday service and detour due to bridge construction; other lines to see minor schedule changes

Beginning Sunday, Aug. 21, 2016, DART is making the following changes to better serve its riders:

· Saturday service has been added to the D-Line Downtown Shuttle thanks to a partnership between DART and the City of Des Moines. Beginning Aug. 27, the D-Line will operate on Saturdays between the hours of 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. The shuttle runs in a loop between downtown and the East Village, transporting people between the Iowa State Capitol Complex and the Western Gateway Park including the Pappajohn Sculpture Park.

· The following DART routes will be redirected due to the pending E Grand Avenue bridge closure, and will remain in effect until the bridge reopens sometime in 2018.

o The inbound/westbound trips on Local Routes 1 and 4 will travel via a modified route through the East Village and downtown Des Moines before returning to DART Central Station.

    • The D-Line Downtown Shuttle that typically runs in a loop on Grand and Locust, will detour off of Grand, traveling on Walnut Street between 2nd Avenue and East 5th Street.

New schedules are available on ridedart.com. Printed schedules are available at DART Central Station and on DART buses.
