DM Register: Student Threatened Shootings at Ankeny, Des Moines DMACC Campuses
The student was arrested when he showed up for class at the Urban campus in Des Moines on Friday.

A Des Moines Area Community College student has been arrested for posting a social media message asking for someone to "shoot up" the Ankeny campus while he did the same at the Urban Des Moines campus, according to the Des Moines Register.
The Register's story says that Paul Richard George, 18, was arrested Friday morning as he arrived on the Des Moines campus.
His Twitter message, according to the newspaper, said: “Who wants to shoot up the DMACC Ankeny campus the same time I shoot up the Urban campus?”

George was charged with first-degree harassment, the newspaper said.
Rob Denson, president of DMACC, said in the Register story, “Subsequent investigation shows it was not a serious threat. The words were bad. But when they saw the student and family and his background it did not appear to be a credible threat. It’s unlikely any action would have been taken. But we have a zero-tolerance policy in matters of this kind.”
