An Eclipse to Remember
Retirement community Vintage Hills at Prairie Trail residents watched the solar eclipse in Ankeny, Iowa.
No doubt about it, the eclipse on August 21, 2017 was a show stopper. At Vintage Hills at Prairie Trail in Ankeny, residents reminisced about the last time they had seen an eclipse of this magnitude while venturing outside to don special eclipse glasses and look at the extraordinary sight.
The community also threw a viewing party inside, playing the live, televised coverage in the theater. “Inside or outside, it was an incredible experience for everyone who took part,” said Trisha Brewer, Executive Director at Vintage Hills at Prairie Trail.
