Ankeny High School to Hold Health and Fitness Expo Wednesday

On Wednesday, April 11, beginning at 9:25 a.m., will partner with the U.S. Army, local businesses, and Governor Brandstad’s Live Healthy Iowa campaign to host a Health & Fitness Expo and promote healthy living among Ankeny teens.   Students in PE classes will gain knowledge, information and motivation about living healthy beyond high school.

The event will start off with an all-school assembly at 9:25 a.m.  Community members and local businesses will then be present throughout the school day to share their knowledge about the benefits of living healthy through nutrition and fitness. Students will be able to visit the Expo during free periods.

The businesses visiting AHS include: Farrell’s Extreme Bodyshaping, the US Army, KISS 107FM, HyVee Nutrition, University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Cross Fit 515, Dymatize, Live Healthy Iowa, Iowa Games, Game Stop, Drake University and the YMCA.  Special guests include Andy Haman, Iowa City High School and University of Iowa Grad, NPC National Bodybuilding 2007 Champion and current IFBB Professional Bodybuilder.
