Ankeny Kiwanis Club's SummerFest "CartFest"

Ankeny Kiwanis Club members drive golf carts during the evenings through SummerFest, providing SummerFest patrons with rides to and from the festival grounds (between parking areas and the Leisure Garden/SummerFest grounds ).  For a free will donation, AKC members assist SummerFest patrons in getting quickly to their parked cars or from cars to SummerFest.  The Ankeny Chamber also enlist AKC members' help in transporting SummerFest patrons who are having difficulty walking lengthy distances or are feeling overly fatigued or heat-weary.  Proceeds from free will donations enable Ankeny Kiwanis to fund children's attendance at camps, provide scholarships through Dollars for Scholars and Ankeny Chamber of Commerce, support the Ankeny Family YMCA's Partners With Youth program (ensuring children and families can participate in Y programming despite an ability to pay), and continue as the sole sponsor for all Ankeny Parks and Recreation programming for kids with special needs.  *Watch for Ankeny Kiwanians driving golf carts!   *Saturday, July 9, 5 - 9 p.m.; Sunday, July 10, 6 - 8 p.m.  See www.ankenykiwanis.org
