Basic Geneaology Workshop

Is it time to follow through on those vows to dig into your family history? Are you overwhelmed at the idea of where to begin? Did you start and give up when you found loads of contradictory information on the internet? The Kirkendall Public Library has a class just for you. Theresa Liewer will teach a basic genealogy course, taking you through the steps of what to look for, where to find it, how to organize it when you find it and where to go for further help. She will introduce you to the basic building blocks of research, including family traditions and census records.

Theresa is past president of the Iowa Genealogical Society and moderator of the Irish Interest Group there. She has been active in family history research for over thirty years and as a volunteer, teaches beginning classes as well as advanced classes on specific topics at the IGS library in Des Moines.
