Jim Jordan Memorial Golf Classic

This year’s Jim Jordan Memorial Golf Classic features a new location, event sponsors and a buffet-style lunch for all players.

On Wednesday, August 24, the Merle Hay – Urbandale Kiwanis will host the 17th annual tournament at Otter Creek Golf Course in Ankeny. The late Jim Jordan started this golf tournament more than 17 years ago to benefit Special Olympics Iowa (SOIA) athletes. He provided leadership to SOIA as a member of its Board of Directors.

After his untimely death in 2003, the golf tournament was named in his honor to recognize his contributions to SOIA and to continue to support athletes with intellectual disabilities.
