MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) International (www.mops.org) is a non-profit, Christian organization dedicated to encouraging, equipping and developing every mother of preschoolers to realize her potential as a woman, mother and leader. Our primary tools for encouragement are local meetings where every mother of a preschooler is invited to come and experience authentic community, personal growth and practical parenting tips to encourage moms to be the best mom possible. We believe that better moms make a better world. Across the country, chartered MOPS groups meet in more than 3,800 churches, ministries and non-profit groups, and more than 110,000 women worldwide are currently registered in local MOPS groups.
The Ankeny Chapter of MOPS International meets bi-monthly at the Ankeny Evangelical Free Church. Our membership includes fifty moms and employs a team of teachers and volunteers who support the “MOPPETS” program. The MOPPETS Program was created to provide a safe, loving and creative place for as many as 100 children while their mothers attend our meetings. These preschoolers range in age from birth to kindergarten. In addition to our meetings, our members are also active in the Ankeny community through local outreaches in T.A.K.E., Headstart, Operation Christmas Child and Alpha Women’s Center to name a few.
The activities of our chapter are supported by annual membership dues and supplemented by the proceeds of a biennial auction – our hallmark fundraising event.
