Iowa author and songwriter Dan Hunter will be coming to the Kirkendall Public Library on Thursday, March 8 at 7 p.m. to sign and read from his book Iowa? It’s a State of Mind.
Hunter is an award-winning playwrite, songwriter and humorist who grew up in Des Moines and has written several books about his life in Iowa including The Search for Iowa (& We Don’t Grow Potatoes Here) and Let’s Keep Des Moines a Private Joke. He has over 25 years of experience in politics and arts advocacy, serving as Director of the Iowa Department of Cultural Affairs and running a successful advertising and political consultancy firm in Des Moines. He now lives in Boston Massachusetts where he teaches creative writing and is a partner in a consulting business.
Books will be available for purchase. This event is free and open to the public. Kirkendall Public Library is located at 1210 NW Prairie Ridge Drive in Ankeny.
