Ankeny's On With Life Announces Heather DeJoode as Honorary Chair For Yearly Fundraiser

On With Life, Comprehensive Inpatient Brain Injury Rehabilitation Facility, is proud to introduce Heather DeJoode as the Honorary Chair for the Sixth Annual Golf Outing and Silent Auction on Thursday, June 28, 2012 at Otter Creek Golf Course in Ankeny, Iowa.

DeJoode’s first-hand experience with On With Life led her to accept this honorary position. “Due to my own life changing rehabilitation experience that I received at On With Life, I am proud to be the Honorary Chair of the 6^th Annual On With Life Foundation Golf Outing and Silent Auction. On May 6, 2010, I was in a car accident, along with my three children, Carson, Chase and Claire. Only Chase and I survived. While Chase recovered with few complications, I was left in a coma with a traumatic brain injury. After twenty-one days in the hospital, still in a coma, I went to On With Life, a unique provider of brain injury rehabilitation services located right here in Iowa,” said DeJoode. “The staff at On With Life helped me get my life back by helping me relearn how to do the most basic activities of daily life from eating and drinking to standing and walking. None of us know when a loved one may suffer a brain injury from a fall, stroke, aneurysm, or accident but we are lucky to have On With Life located here in Iowa.”

On With Life at Ankeny is Iowa’s only comprehensive post acute inpatient rehabilitation program for persons with brain injury.  The golf outing and silent auction is On With Life Foundation's annual fundraiser. Funds from the outing and auction are used to help improve the lives, safety, and opportunities of those whom On With Life is privileged to served and their families. Over the past five years, this event has put more than $175,000 dollars into the specialty brain injury rehabilitation programs. With your help, On With Life can continue to provide equipment and enhance services that improve the lives of persons living with brain injury.
