Before the SummerFest parade, stop by the Ankeny Bandshell for a pancake breakfast! Or, if you are saving a spot along the parade route, send someone to the bandshell to get breakfast to bring back for your group--and support the Ankeny Miracle Park project and Ankeny Kiwanis Club! This year, the annual pancake and sausage breakfast will be located at the bandshell along the parade route, making it much easier for parade goers to eat breakfast or take food back to others saving spots. Cost: $5 per person, with kids 3 years old and younger free. The fundraiser supports the Ankeny Miracle Park project and other Ankeny Kiwanis Club activities, including the club's sponsorship of Ankeny Parks and Recreation programming for children with special needs/"Super Kids," Ankeny High School's Key Club service organization and sending students to leadership camp, the Ankeny Family YMCA's YPartners program, the Michael F. Lacey, Jr. Scholarship through Ankeny Dollars for Scholars, an annual scholarship through Ankeny Area Chamber of Commerce, and Operation Underwear: Donating Clothing to Ankeny School Nurses and T.A.K.E.
