Faith and Education Warm Donations!

Donations can be mailed to Project Fresh Start at the Ankeny Community Education Department, 306 SW School Street, Ankeny, Iowa 50023.

This fall, we are faced with a significant challenge. Soon the Iowa winter will have us opening our closets for winter coats, hats, gloves and boots. But many Ankeny families lack the funds to purchase these items for their children.

In the past, Ankeny was blessed with two programs that secured funds and winter clothing donations for students and families in need. Unfortunately, both of these programs have disbanded. That is why Project Fresh Start, supported by the Ankeny Community Education program, is stepping forward to help receive and coordinate donations of winter clothing.

Project Fresh Start is an Ankeny-based volunteer program that has provided free school supplies, backpacks, prom dresses and more to students for over a decade. Their new F.E.W.D. Program (Faith and Education Winter Donations), in its second year, will combat this clothing issue as a joint venture between community church members and our educational community.
