Fareway Plans to Build New Grocery Store in Polk City
The store will be housed in the former Jubilee Foods building.

In addition to its two stores in Ankeny, Fareway is planning to build another location in nearby Polk City.
The Iowa-based grocery chain is planning a 19,000-square-foot store to open this summer, according to the Des Moines Register. Fareway plans to remodel the former Jubilee Food Store at 400 W. Bridge St. and add on another 4,000 square feet to the building, Fareway President Fred Greiner told the Register.
The Polk City store will have all the offerings of a traditional Fareway, including its signature fresh meat department, the article said. The store will employ about 50 full and part-time workers.
