Fill the Fire Truck in Ankeny Fire Department's Toys for Tots Fundraiser

From a City of Ankeny media release:

The Ankeny Fire Department is asking for your help to fill an ambulance and a fire engine with toys again this year to ensure that children in need can experience the excitement and joy of Christmas. Toys collected will benefit the U.S. Marine Corps Toys for Tots campaign.

Both Ankeny fire station locations are official drop locations for the 'Toys for Tots' campaign. Ankeny Fire Headquarters is located at 120 N.W. Ash Dr., and Fire Station #2 is located at 665 S.E. Oralabor Rd.

Items can be dropped off Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. now through Monday, Dec. 10. Those wishing to participate are asked to donate only unwrapped new toys.

To top off this year's campaign, the department will also have its annual "Fill the Ambulance With Toys" Day, from 3-6 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 2. The Fire Department will fill an ambulance with toys at Station 2 and will fill a fire engine with toys at the Fire Station Headquarters.

Due to the overwhelming support of our community, last year's toy drive resulted in over 900 toys being collected for children in Central Iowa. For further information please contact the Ankeny Fire Department at 515-965-6469.
