Get Ready, Ankeny School District Parents – Kindergarten Registration is Almost Here

Get ready, Ankeny parents – it’s time to register your little ones for kindergarten.

The Ankeny Community School District will hold kindergarten registration for the 2013-14 academic year at 7 p.m. on Feb. 7.

To register for kindergarten, your child must be 5 years old on or before Sept. 15 of this year. Registration forms can be found on the school district’s website.

No registrations will be accepted prior to Feb. 7.

Parents are asked to bring proof of their child’s birthdate with them to registration, as well as updated immunization records. Other health documents should have been included in the registration packets parents received.

The registration meeting is for parents only and the district asks that no children attend this meeting.

• Crocker Elementary, 2910 S.W. Applewood St. (965-9710)

• East Elementary, 710 S.E. Third St. (965-9660)

• Northeast Elementary, 1705 N.E. Trilein Dr. (965-9620)

• Northwest Elementary, 1202 W. First St. (965-9680)

• Prairie Trail Elementary, 1850 College Ave. (965-9605)

• Southeast Elementary, 1005 S.E. Trilein Dr. (965-9650)

• Terrace Elementary, 310 N.W. School St. (965-9670)

• Westwood Elementary, 2920 N.W. Ninth St. (965-9690)

In a release issued by the school district, parents are encouraged to enroll their kids if they’re eligible to attend kindergarten due to increased enrollment and limited class space.

If parents decide at a later date that their children are not ready for kindergarten, enrollment can be cancelled. Questions can be directed to your appropriate elementary school or registrar@ankenyschools.org.
