Spring is officially here and special events will be popping up around the Greater Des Moines area as people celebrate warmer weather, longer days and the simple joys of spending time outside. Maybe it’s a run, a bike ride, a concert, or a festival. And of course, Earth Day on April 22 brings lots of activities!
“Greening” Your Event
The best events include food, beverages, fun things to do – and lots of planning! With food, you need plates, napkins and silverware; with beverages you might have cans or bottles to deal with. Part of planning a successful event is thinking about where all that “stuff” is going to end up. Metro Waste Authority has everything you need to make things run smoothly and keep the garbage and recyclables contained.
What You’ll Need
No matter how hard we try, we can’t avoid having some trash at our events. An easy way to keep it contained is to purchase trash boxes and bags from Metro Waste Authority. We also have event recycling stands you can borrow for indoor and outdoor events to keep those cans and bottles out of the trash. All that’s required is a reservation and a refundable deposit.
