Gumshoe Classic Charity Event Needs Players
Teams can still register in the fifth annual event organized by the Ankeny Police Protective and Benevolent Association.

The Ankeny Police Protective and Benevolent Association is getting ready to host the fifth annual Gumshoe Charity Classic on Aug. 12.
The Gumshoe Classic is a charity golf event that provides funds to local organizations. The PBA has teamed up with GAP this year to support the Young Women’s Resource Center. Funds from the event also will be donated to the family of Deputy Eric Young, who was killed in the line of duty several months ago.
The tournament will be held at in Ankeny and is a four-person multiple tee scramble. Registration is $65 per person, which includes a tournament t-shirt, golf, cart, range and lunch catered by Outback Steakhouse.

Raffle prizes will be available. A putting contest also will be held in which someone will win a Toshiba laptop computer and a chance to win $5,000.
The Gumshoe Charity Classic has helped the PBA raise over $25,000 since 2006. Space is limited but there are still team spots that need to be filled. If interested, contact David Billings at the at 515-289-5252 or register online at www.gumshoecharityclassic.com.
