Homecoming Week is in Full Swing for Ankeny Schools

Ankeny Schools kicked off homecoming week Monday with the district's first dress-up day and an evening packed full of crazy fun.

School spirit was apparent Monday night as students got down and dirty in "AHS: Under the Lights." Beginning at 8 p.m., more than 850 students and staff participated in games involving pudding, slip-and-slides, cheese balls, eggs and so much more.

But the week isn't over yet.

1) Tuesday

• Dress-up Day: Superheroes, Sidekicks and Villains.

2) Wednesday

• Dress-up Day: A Blast from the Past

• Students vote for homecoming king and queen during advisement

3) Thursday

• Dress-up Day: The Oscars

4) Friday

• Dress-up Day: Spirit Day

• School-wide pep assembly (time TBA)

• 7 p.m.: Homecoming king and queen coronation at Ankeny Stadium ()

• 7:30 p.m.: Ankeny Hawks football vs. Urbandale (home)

5) Saturday

• 8 p.m.: Homecoming dance for students
