Wapsie Valley Fairbank defeats Hinton, and Decorah whips Sioux City Bishop Heelan Catholic. Tomorrow's the big one: Ankeny v. Cedar Rapids Xavier.

Day One of the Iowa High School Football Championships are over, and Wapsie Valley Fairbank is the Class A champion, defeating Hinton, 21-14. Full stats and scoring summary.

In the Class 3A championship Decorah defeated Sioux City Bishop Heelan Catholic, 49-21. Full stats and scoring summary.

Friday, of course, is the day that really matters in Ankeny. That's when Joel Lanning and the Ankeny Hawks take on the Cedar Rapids Xavier Saints in the Class 4A title game.

Kickoff for Ankeny v. Cedar Rapids Xavier is at 7:06 p.m. Tickets are on sale at the Ankeny High School Activities Office, Southview and Northview Middle Schools, through Friday, Nov. 16, from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. All tickets are $8 and no passes are accepted.
