Iowa Sales Tax Holiday Aug. 2 and 3: Buy/Donate Extra Item for Ankeny School Students

Take advantage of Iowa's 2013 Sales Tax Holiday Aug. 2 and 3 -- Donate to Operation Underwear

Give back to Ankeny schools by purchasing socks, underwear, and sweatpants -- all items exempt from Iowa sales tax during the holiday on August 2 and 3.

For the fourth year, the Ankeny Kiwanis Club (www.ankenykiwanis.org) is collecting the clothing items through its Operation Underwear initiative in order to supply Ankeny school nurses and social workers with items to give to students in need.  Surplus items are donated to T.A.K.E., The Ankeny Klothing Exchange located in the Neveln Resource Center at 406 SW School Street.

Donations of clothing items may be made at Kirkendall Public Library from August 1st through September 15th.  In addition, a collection bin is housed year-round at the Ankeny Community Education Office at 306 SW School Street.

Ankeny Kiwanis hopes community members who shop for clothing items and back-to-school clothing will take advantage of the Iowa sales tax holiday to purchase one additional item to donate.

All sizes are needed; all Ankeny schools are served by Operation Underwear.
