An Iowa man survived the biggest tornado in history and has a video to prove it, according to KCCI.
Storm chaser Brennan Jontz from Bondurant, IA traveled to Oklahoma last week to see the El Reno tornado. When he got there, the tornado upgraded to a dangerous category EF-5, but that did not deter him. Jontz set up his camera (for footage, see above).
“It was massive," Jontz told KCCI. "I was just watching the Supercell coming toward me, getting some time-lapses and stuff, and pretty soon, I see a giant rotating wall cloud on the ground.”

But the weather continued to escalate. With 300 mile-per-hour winds, the twister grew to cover 2.6 miles, making it the widest tornado on record, according to the National Weather Service.
"It was more of a 'get out of the way' chase. This thing came from everywhere, all the traffic. It was horrible," Jontz told KCCI. He was lucky. Authorities said the tornado killed 18 people, but Jontz doesn’t plan on quitting storm chasing any time soon.Find out what's happening in Ankenyfor free with the latest updates from Patch.
