IRS Scandal Moves One Step Closer to White House

Remember the IRS scandal? The investigation is still going, and revealing more and more about what actually happened.

Lois Lerner was one of the top department heads at the IRS.  She was brought before Congress a couple months ago as part of the investigation into the IRS's admitted targeting of conservative groups.  She declared her innocence, saying she did nothing wrong....and then invoked the 5th Amendment right against self-incrimination.  Now we know more details about why she did that.

IRS employees were ordered by their superiors, which included Ms Lerner, to send certain Tea Party applications to the IRS chief council, who is a political nominee.  A person appointed by the White House and whose continued employment is at the discretion of the White House.

The chief council worked with department heads at the IRS to develop the tests they would use against these Tea Party groups.  They developed the plan for how to tell IRS employees to approach the approval process for conservative groups.  This is blatantly illegal, and people need to go to jail because of it.

While the White House continues to claim that it was just a few rogue employees in it's Cincinnati office who were responsible for this, nobody but the strict ideologues on the left believe that anymore.  The only question is how far up the chain of command it goes.  And it keeps going higher and higher.  Remember, it took about a year and a half to get to the facts about Watergate.  We're only about 3 months into this now.  There is more coming.  And remember, this is the same group that is set to be the enforcers on health care in a few months.
