John McCain and Lindsey Graham are Clueless

While there are so many topics on which to point out their cluelessness, I will address only two in this post.  Both topics are about Middle East policy. 

Last week the pair traveled to Egypt.  Why they thought they needed to travel to Egypt is not clear, but they went and assess the situation.  In a press conference while they were there, they expressed amazement and shock at just how bad the situation was, saying that the nation is "days or weeks" from all out bloodshed.  Well, duh.  Anyone who has actively followed the developments in Egypt since the 2011 overthrow of Mubarak has been able to see that it's not the "wonderful democratic revolution" that people like Bill Kristol proclaimed.  Instead we've seen where sexual assaults have skyrocketed, violence and crime in general have skyrocketed, Islamic oppression of Christians has increased, and more.  Riots and protests never stopped.  Then the military executed a coup and removed the newly elected president from office.  Of course, our government won't call it a "coup", our State Department even said that they don't need to make a determination on whether or not it was a coup.  By doing that, our government can continue to to send financial aid and military aid to Egypt. 

Anyway, the nation hasn't gotten better since 2011, it's gotten worse.  McCain's and Graham's comments made it appear they would prefer the Muslim Brotherhood return to power.  That would make sense, as our government has been partnering with the Muslim Brotherhood since just after 9/11.  The Muslim Brotherhood, remember, is an Islamist organization which believes in the oppressive Sharia law, and spawned such offshoot organizations as al qaeda.  Our government is promoting partnership with the Brotherhood, and McCain and Graham are helping make it seem legitimate.

This is after saying it's ok to arm the Syrian rebels, who are almost exclusively allied with al qaeda.  It's been reported that 400 surface to air missiles were stolen in the Benghazi attack that killed 4 Americans, include a US Ambassador.  That would be very illegal to be running guns that way.  It's quite likely those weapons were sent into Syria by the al qaeda allied forces that attacked the CIA safehouse. 

What McCain and Graham are doing is providing cover to the administration for what they're doing, and providing legitimacy to the illegal and unethical activities of this administration.  If they aren't clueless to the problems that are created by what they are advocating, or they don't care.  Either way what they are doing is wrong.
