Kevin Koester, John Landon Appointed to Iowa House of Representatives Committees

Committee appointments for the Iowa House District 38 and 37 representatives have been announced.

Two local Iowa state representatives have been appointed to several committees for the 2013 legislative session.

Republican House District 37 Representative John Landon was appointed by House Speaker Kraig Paulsen as vice chair of the House Ways and Means Committee.Β 

Landon will also serve on the Commerce, Human Resources, International Relations, and Transportation committees as well as the Transportation, Infrastructure and Capitals Appropriations Subcommittee. Β

β€œLandon is a proven hard worker and someone who really listens to Iowans,” Paulsen said.Β  β€œHis leadership will be a tremendous asset to this committee.”

Landon will be serving his first term in the House.

Kevin Koester, Republican District 38 representative, was appointed to the House Appropriations, Education, Human Resources and State Government committees.Β  Additionally, he will serve as the Chair of the Government Oversight Committee.

β€œKoesterΒ is a principled and knowledgeable leader who will consistently put Iowans first,” Paulsen said.Β  β€œHe will be a tremendous asset to these committees.”

Koester will be serving his third term in the House.
