Newest Ankeny Kum & Go Location Now Open

The new store is environmentally friendly and offers customers made-to-order pizza, breakfast and deli sandwiches.

Kum & Go, L.C. opened a new store Friday in Ankeny at 3603 N.E. Otterview Circle.

This newly constructed store, the company’s fifth in Ankeny, expands Kum & Go’s presence in the Des Moines metropolitan market to 45 stores, and in Iowa to 173 stores, according to a news release from the company.

The nearly 5,000-square-foot store introduces many new features both inside and outside the buildings. Inside, customers will find a larger product selection, a center checkout area with customer-focused staff, and an expanded Go Fresh Market offering made-to-order pizzas, breakfast and deli sandwiches, and baked goods ― all made fresh daily at Kum & Go’s on-site kitchen.

Another distinguishing feature of Kum & Go’s new store design is the strong emphasis on sustainability. Kum & Go designs and constructs the stores with LEED certification in mind. The release said sustainable features of this new Kum & Go store includes Solatube skylights, LED lighting both inside and outside the store, low-flow water efficient fixtures, and high energy-efficiency equipment. Each store is built using recyclable materials and locally sourced materials. More information about Kum & Go’s green initiatives can be found at kumandgo.com.

“We’re passionate about the communities we serve. We demonstrate that passion first by bringing an eco-friendly store,” said Krause. “And, second, by giving back. We donate 10 percent of our profits to educational and charitable causes every year.”
