REPLAY: Iowa City West Triumphs over Hawkettes in Championship Overtime Thriller
After tying it up at the buzzer, the Iowa City West Women of Troy went on to win the Class 4A Girls State Basketball championship, defeating 4th-ranked Ankeny in a 61-56 victory.
Ankeny and Iowa City West (25-1) had us on the edge of our seats into the final moments and beyond, but it was the Women of Troy who came out on top Saturday night, securing the Class 4A Iowa State Girls Basketball championship.
Iowa City West's win came after the two teams tied it up at the buzzer, forcing the title game to go into overtime. The final score was 61-56 with Ankeny ending the season 22-4.
