Major Collision Results In Two Fatalities In Ankeny

July 31, 2020

On Thursday, July 30, 2020 at 10:07 PM, Ankeny Police officers were dispatched to a collision involving a car and a motorcycle at the intersection of SW Oralabor Road and SW Irvinedale Drive. As a result of this collision, the driver and passenger on the motorcycle did not survive their injuries. The driver and the passenger of the car were not hurt.

The driver of the motorcycle has been identified as Shaun Gumm (40) and his passenger was identified as Amanda Gordon (35), both of Des Moines. The car involved was driven by Sara Howell (44), also of Des Moines.

This case remains under investigation.
