Majority of Ankeny Head Coaches Will Remain Hawks Next Year
While football coach Jerry Pezzetti will coach at Ankeny Centennial High School, many of his colleagues will be staying at Ankeny

While Ankeny football coach Jerry Pezzetti is making the move to Ankeny Centennial High School, many of his colleagues will be keeping their maroon and gold next year.
All golf and tennis head coaches will remain at Ankeny High School, along with girls cross country coach Craig Doocy, according to Dan Holm of the Des Moines Register. Wrestling coach Dave Ewing and volleyball coach Dave Whims previously confirmed that they will be staying at Ankeny as well.
“It wasn’t really a tough decision,” girls golf coach Toni Dickey told the Register. “I grew up in Ankeny, I graduated from Ankeny, and I’ve coached here now for 26 years. It’s still going to be very hard to coach against the kids that have gone through the program that will be Jaguars next year. But once a Hawkette always a Hawkette, I guess.”

Boys tennis coach Randy Daniels told the newspaper he based his decision more on his teaching duties rather than his coaching assignment.
“It was always more about splitting the math department evenly,” he said
