Make an Easy Fabric Holiday Wreath!
Here's a fun and easy holiday project that is simple, inexpensive and is a great way to decorate your home or make as a gift!

Wreaths of all sorts are used to decorate homes throughout the year, but they are most often seen at Christmas time, hanging on our doors. Create your own fabric wreath as an artistic and seasonal holiday decoration (or gift). It’s quick, fun, easy and can be made from old fabric scraps. All you need is a clothes hanger, pliers, scissors, fabric scraps and a ribbon (optional).
First, stretch the clothes hanger out into a circle shape. Use the pliers to help bend the hanger; the hook on top will be used to hang the wreath. Note that the white clothes hangers are usually thinner and easier to work with. Likewise, if you want to make a smaller wreath, cut the coat hanger in half.
Next, cut your fabric scraps into strips that are about 11 inches long by 2.5 inches wide. The full wreath will need about 100-120 of these strips. For the smaller half-hanger wreath, cut the strips about 6 inches long by 1 inch wide. The strips don’t have to be exact, and if the width varies a bit, it tends to make the wreath look more filled out.
Once you have a pile of fabric strips cut, start making your wreath! Make a simple tie with your fabric strips around the coat hanger until it is completely and totally full. Fluff it a bit to make sure it looks right and add more fabric ties as necessary. If you have the optional ribbon, you can make a big bow to go at the top or simply wrap some ribbon around the hanger-hook to disguise it!
