Men Charged with Robbing Ankeny, West Des Moines Kum & Go Sentenced After Pleading Guilty
The plea was in connection to an incident that occurred in May.
Two men who robbed an Ankeny gas station and assaulted the store clerk have pleaded guilty to charges and were sentenced to serve 25 years in prison.
Christopher Michael Lince, 26, of 5758 Vista Drive in West Des Moines, and Zakerie Taylor Songer, 23, of 1000 Maple St., Sidney, each pleaded guilty to two counts of second-degree robbery and one count of intimidation with a dangerous weapon, according to a news release issued by the Ankeny Police Department.
In addition, Songer was fined $1,000. Both were sentenced by Polk County Judge Scott Rosenberg.

The plea and sentencing are a result of an incident that occured on May 4 at the Ankeny Kum & Go at 1025 E. First St., during which the two men entered the store. They proceeded to punch the store clerk multiple times in the face and fired one shot into the shop's ceiling.
Lince and Songer then took an undisclosed amount of money from the register and left on foot.

A similar robbery was reported later that day by employees at a West Des Moines Kum & Go store at 7265 Vista Drive. Employees said the two men entered the store, one displaying a handgun, and demanded money and cigarettes.
