Missing Ankeny Man Found Safe
Nichols spoke with officers and was taken to a local hospital for evaluation.

On Saturday, Aug. 22, a Polk County Deputy was patrolling on NW 37th St. where it intersects with the High Trestle Trail (bicycle trail) and observed a male sitting on a bench who matched the description of Michael Nichols (58 years old). Nichols had been reported missing on Aug. 20 from Ankeny and there were concerns for his welfare.

The Deputy stopped and positively identified this subject as Nichols and an Ankeny Police officer responded to the scene. Nichols spoke with officers and was taken to a local hospital for evaluation.
