The news this morning reported that the unemployment rate has dropped to 7.3%. That's good, right? No, is it hides the fact that more people are no longer in the workforce than at any time since 1978. That's almost 90.5 million people, up over 10 million in the last 5 years. The unemployment rate excludes those who have completely given up on trying to get a job. Under the current administration the unemployment rate has only dropped 0.5%, even after spending trillions to stimulate the economy, and millions have simply given up.
When will we learn that big government, big spending solutions don't work? We need to get the government out of the way so that Americans can do what Americans do best, namely innovate and create. That's what creates jobs, not more government spending.
