Nineteen-Year-Old Charged with OWI, Drug Possession Top This Week's Ankeny Police Blotter

A summary of incident reports with individual charges provided by the Ankeny Police Department.

Jan. 17

Police responded to 1727 S. Ankeny Blvd. at approximately 9:54 a.m. for reports of third-degree burglary from a vehicle and criminal mischief.

Jan. 20 

Justin L. Lekin, 32, Ankeny, was charged with second-degree criminal mischief, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia following an incident at 2103 N.W. Ashton Ln.

Quinn E. Reik, 20, Ankeny, was charged with driving with a revoked license following a traffic stop near the intersection of Southeast Delaware Avenue and Village View Lane.

Jeffrey A. Wegner, 49, Des Moines, was charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia following an incident at 1910 S.W. White Birch Circle.

Jan. 21

Jacob J. Adams, 20, Ankeny, was charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated, causing an accident and possession of drug paraphernalia following an incident near the intersection of Southeast Orchid Street and Springwood Drive.

Jeffry D. Greene, 47, Ankeny, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia following an incident at 1937 W. First St.

James A. Houghton, 31, Ankeny, was charged with possession of methamphetamine following an incident at 308 N.W. Abilene Rd.

Lukeus W. Lisk, 21, Sully, was charged with driving while barred following a traffic stop near 2702 S.E. Delaware Ave.

Jan. 22

Police responded to 132 S.E. Shurfine Dr. at approximately 5:04 p.m. for a report of a burglary.

Jan. 23

Caitlin Peterson, 23, Des Moines, was charged with driving with a revoked license following a traffic stop near the 1700 block of North Ankeny Boulevard.

Brittany J. Smith, 22, Ankeny, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia following an incident at 2031 Four Seasons Dr.

Jan. 25

A 17-year-old juvenile was charged with fifth-degree theft following an incident at 1935 S.E. Delaware Ave.

Police responded to 2005 S.W. 35th St. at approximately 10:52 a.m. for a report of a burglary.

Police responded to Southeast 72nd Street and Corporate Woods Drive at approximately 3:47 p.m. for a report a theft.

Jan. 26

Justin L. Alsop Jorris, 24, Ankeny, was charged with assault causing bodily injury following an incident at 106 S.W. Linden St.

Aileen F. Reed, 49, Elkhart, was charged with third-degree theft following an incident at 1002 S.E. National Dr.

Heather M. Schwartz, 22, Ankeny, was charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated following a traffic stop near the 1800 block of Southwest State Street.

Jan. 27

Danielle M. Esselman, 23, Ankeny, was charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated, improper lane use and restricted driver’s license violation following a traffic stop in the 100 block of Northeast Delaware Avenue.

Kevin W. Long, 23, Mystic, was charged with fifth-degree theft following an incident at 1002 S.E. National Dr.

Jan. 28

Ryan S. Adamson, 27, Delaware Township, was arrested on an outstanding Polk County warrant following a traffic stop on southbound Interstate 35 near mile marker 88.

Kelly L. Allen, 51, Belmond, was charged with fifth-degree theft following an incident at 2505 S.E. Delaware Ave. 

Donald D. Dhabolt, 31, Altoona, was charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated following a traffic stop near Southeast Delaware Avenue and Shurfine Drive.

Joshua M. Mielk, 26, Ankeny, was charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated (second offense) following a traffic stop near the 700 block of South Ankeny Boulevard.

Brittany L. Telk, 22, Crocker Township, was charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated and improper lane use following a traffic stop near 1025 E. First St.

Jan. 29

Erica Y. Gudka, 19, Ankeny, was charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated, possession of drug paraphernalia and causing an accident following an incident near 901 S.E. Second St. 

Jason W. Meyer, 24, Ankeny, was charged with public intoxication following an incident at 901 N.E. 25th Ct.

Tyler J. Sorensen, 22, Ankeny, was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia following an incident at 802 E. First St.

Police responded to 317 S.E. Trilein Dr. at approximately 10:36 a.m. for a report of a burglary.
