NSA Admits to Spying on Americans

The NSA admits to doing exactly what they said they weren't doing, using the same excuse as has been used in other scandals.

“Over the past decade, very rare instances of willful violations of NSA’s authorities have been found,  NSA takes very seriously allegations of misconduct, and cooperates fully with any investigations -- responding as appropriate. NSA has zero tolerance for willful violations of the agency’s authorities.”
So let's see, they're admitting they did it, but it was just a few rogue employees who violated policies, and the White House has zero tolerance for that behavior.  Sound familiar?  That's because it's the same line they used in the IRS scandal.  That was originally claimed to be just a handful of rogue employees but has since ballooned into being tied to management and even a White House political employee.

Now we're expected to believe that the NSA only spied on Americans only in rare cases?

The NSA has access to 75% of all US internet traffic.  They can access almost anything transmitted online.  The White House wants approval for warrantless cellphone searches.  An internal audit showed they broke their own privacy rules thousands of times per year.  There's lots of stories like these, and more keep coming as more is learned.  The same thing has happened in the IRS case.

Does anyone else think that the same thing will play out, where as we learn more and more that we discover they've been doing a whole lot more with spying on us than they want to admit?  We are becoming a police state, and our government is collecting any and all data they can to help make it so.
