On to State! Ankeny Hawkettes Defeat Sioux City West for Spot in the Tournament
The Ankeny girls basketball team is moving on to the Class 5A Iowa High School Girls Basketball state tournament.
It's off to the Well for the Ankeny Hawkettes.
The Hawkettes met Sioux City West Tuesday night in Webster City for the regional semifinals, where they brought home a 64-34 victory the Wolverines.

Last year, the Hawkettes were runners-up for the Class 4A championship. This year, the team kicks off tournament play in the Class 5A quarterfinals on Feb. 27.
The Hawkettes play Cedar Rapids Washington at 1:30 p.m.
