One Ankeny Company Among 'Most Trustworthy' In Nation by Forbes Magazine

Casey's General Stores Inc., based in Ankeny, is among four Iowa companies recently recognized by Forbes Magazine as one of the 100 Most Trustworthy Companies in the nation.

Casey’s and Des Moines-based EMC Insurance Group Inc. both received scores of 99 out of 100, as did Cedar Rapids-based United Fire Group Inc., the Des Moines Business Record reported.

The ratings didn't necessarily reflect what customers think of the company, the article said. Instead, the ratings put them among the top 15 percent of “conservative” companies deemed to have the lowest risk for fraudulent activity.

Categories the magazine evaluated included corporate governance events, high risk events, revenue recognition, expense recognition and asset-liability recognition.
