Operation Underwear Clothing Drive Makes First Delivery to School Nurses; Continues

After two weeks of Ankeny Kiwanis Club's Operation Underwear Clothing Drive, nearly 200 items -- new children's socks, undies, and sweatpants -- were provided to Ankeny School District nurses.  Items were donated and collected at Kirkendall Public Library; in addition, donations of money provided to Ankeny Kiwanis were used to purchase additional clothing items.
The Fall 2013 drive continues through September 15th.  Items/sizes most needed include: boys' and girls' small and medium sized socks and undies, as well as boys' and girls' sweatpants in all sizes -- including the largest sizes.  Adult sweatpants in small, medium, and large would be helpful as well.
Donations of clothing items may be taken to Kirkendall Library, 1210 NW Prairie Ridge Drive, or the Ankeny Community Education Office in Neveln Resource Center, 306 SW School Street.  For monetary donations, contact Ankeny Kiwanis at P.O. Box 773, Ankeny, IA  50021 or via their website at www.ankenykiwanis.org.
