P90X Classes to Be Offered Again in Ankeny

Ankeny residents will have another chance to sign up for classes. The next session starts on April 8.

Miss out on the last round of P90X classes? Ankeny Parks and Recreation is offering residents another chance.

P90X, a popular at-home fitness program, will start a new six-week session on April 8. The class will be held three times per week, and concludes on May 17.

The class will be held at Ankeny Parks and Recreation office, located at 210 N. Ankeny Blvd. The six-week session will be held from 5:30-6:15 a.m. on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Cost of the class is $125 for residents and $150 for non-residents.

Pre assessments for the class will be held on Sunday, April 7 at 6 p.m. at the Parks and Recreation office.

The class will be taught by Rick Fleener and Nick Jarosh. The pair are two of only four certified P90X trainers in Iowa.

P90X consists of challenging workouts that use resistance and body-weight training, cardio, plyometrics, ab work, martial arts and yoga. Fleener told Ankeny Patch in a previous interview that the program is in no way "gimmicky."

"It's motivating, encouraging and fun," he said. "We're honest and passionate about why we're doing this."
