Police, Troopers Ram Car to End High-Speed Chase Near Ankeny High School
Two men are in Polk County Jail following an early-morning, high speed chase that ended in Ankeny, according to one local television station.
Two men are facing charges stemming from their alleged involvement in a police chase that ended near Ankeny High School this morning, according to WHO Channel 13.
Peter Wiley, 31, of Creston, and Justin Stowers, 32, of Grand River, were arrested following a high-speed chase that started at 12:30 a.m. near Park and 63rd Street in Des Moines, and later ended near Northwest Heritage Avenue in Ankeny. The chase, in which Wiley was the driver, reached speeds of 100 mph at times, the article said.
One state trooper told the television station the driver allegedly drove into oncoming traffic numerous times while driving on Ankeny Boulevard.

The chase ended once the vehicle hit stop sticks, the article said. Wiley allegedly tried to keep driving, and one Des Moines police officer and state trooper rammed the vehicle.
Wiley is being held on charges of eluding and improper use of registration, as well as several outstanding Union County warrants. Stowers also is being charged with eluding, as well as interference with official acts.
