Polk County Accident Involving Daycare Bus Sends Four to Hospital

Four individuals were transported to a Des Moines hospital today following an accident involving a daycare bus and a van.

According to a press release issued by the city of Ankeny, the responded to the intersection of Highway 415 and Northwest 80th Lane in northern Polk County Wednesday in response to the accident.

Twenty-three people were involved in the accident, the release said. The four who were transported to the hospital had non-life threatening injuries. An additional 17 people were taken to the Ankeny Fire Station for further evaluation before they were released to their parents.

The Ankeny Fire Department and the Polk County Sheriff's Department managed this incident. Assistance on the scene were the , Polk City Fire Department and Mercy Ambulance Service.
