Register Now for Fall Dance Classes For Ankeny Tykes

Have your youngsters learn the basics of dance in Toe Tappers or Twinkle Toes this fall. Both programs are for girls and boys ages 3 to 5; participants must be of the required age before the program begins, according to a news release.

Toe TappersToe Tappers will teach basic tap footwork and rhythm. Music will be incorporated as your child performs large motor skill movements. Tap shoes are required.

The three-year-old class is held from 5 to 5:30 p.m. and the 4- and 5-year-old class is from 5:40 to 6:25 p.m. Classes are held on Mondays from Oct. 8 through Nov. 12.

The registration deadline is Sept. 24. This class is held at the Parks and Recreation Office, 210 S. Ankeny Blvd.

Twinkle ToesTwinkle Toes will help prepare for the basics of dance by combining stretching and simple ballet moves with music. Soft shoes or tennis shoes are required.

Classes are held on Wednesdays from Oct. 10 through Nov. 14 at the Lakeside Center, 400 N.W. Lakeshore Drive. Classes are 30 minutes long for 3-year-olds and are offered at 5:15 p.m. or 6 p.m.

The 4- and 5-year-olds will meet for 45 minutes from 6:45 to 7:30 p.m. The registration deadline is Sept. 26.

The registration fee for the 3-year-old classes is $25 for residents and $30 for non-residents.

The fee for the 4- and 5-year-old classes is $30 for residents and $36 for non-residents.
