ENCORE: Ankeny Parents, Don't Forget — Kindergarten Registration is Tonight

Editor's Note: We know as well as you do that days often blend together in the flurry of to-do lists and responsibilities that comprise our lives. Because we understand, here's an encore of a story we ran a couple weeks ago just in case you missed it.

Get ready, Ankeny parents – it’s time to register your little ones for kindergarten.

The will hold kindergarten registration for the 2012-13 academic year at 7 p.m. tonight.

To register for kindergarten, your child must be 5 years old on or before Sept. 15 of this year. Registration forms can be found on the school district’s website.

No registrations will be accepted prior to tonight.

Parents are asked to bring proof of their child’s birthdate with them to registration, as well as updated immunization records. Other health documents should have been included in the registration packets parents received.

Parents can register their kids at their corresponding elementary schools:

• Prairie Trail Elementary (registration will be held in the Performance Center)

In a release issued by the school district, parents are encouraged to enroll their kids if they’re eligible to attend kindergarten due to increased enrollment and limited class space.

If parents decide at a later date that their children are not ready for kindergarten, enrollment can be cancelled. Questions can be directed to your appropriate elementary school or registrar@ankenyschools.org.
