Residents Near Ankeny's Fourmile Creek Encouraged to Attend Watershed Study Meeting

A watershed study on Fourmile Creek is being completed and a public meeting will be held to share the results with residents and receive feedback. The meeting will be held on Wednesday, April 3 at 5:30 p.m. in the Community Conference Room at Snyder & Associates, Inc., 2727 SW Snyder Blvd. in Ankeny. This public meeting is intended for residents located on the upper/northern part of the Fourmile Creek watershed, such as Ankeny, Alleman, and neighboring communities.

The purpose of the watershed study was to engage the public in watershed management for Fourmile Creek to address water quantity and quality issues; develop new hydrologic and hydraulic models for existing and future conditions; prepare alternatives for flood reduction, water quality improvements, and watershed management.

For those unable to attend the meeting on April 3 or residents located on the lower/southern part of the Fourmile Creek watershed, an additional meeting will be held on Thursday, April 4 at 5:30 p.m. in the Hy-Vee Euclid Room at 2540 East Euclid Avenue, Des Moines, IA 50317 (building directly east of the Hy-Vee store). Both meetings will include the same presentation.
