School Supply Give Away for Ankeny Students
Project Fresh Start and Ankeny Schools Community Education Department are gearing up for the school supply give away for Ankeny students.

School Supply Give Away
Project Fresh Start and the Ankeny Community Education Department are gearing up to continue their decade-long tradition of provided school supplies and backpacks to student in need in the Ankeny community. This is called Days of Giving.
In 2015, nearly 700 backpacks were distributed. Also in additional
200 student were assisted during the school year as the need
occurred. Project Fresh Start is expecting to help even more
students this year!

“As our district continues to grow, we expect the need to continue to grow,” said Karen Norton, Community Education Department. “Even a pair of scissors or a pack of crayons can make a noticeable different to a child and their ability to focus on learning in the classroom.”
Any Ankeny Schools or Ankeny Christian Academy students in need are welcome to take part in the program and receive these supplies to prepare for the 2016-2017 school year.

Project Fresh Start plans to distribute supplies at Neveln Center Inc., 406 SW School Street, room 303:
Thursday, August 4 from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm
Saturday, August 6 from 9 am to 11:00 am.
Days of Giving is a collaboration between the Ankeny Community School District, Ankeny Service Center, Wal-Mart, and area churches, local businesses and generous individual/ group donations. For more information on how to donate, call the Ankeny Community
